I'm excited about HP's amazing tech giveaway. I'm one of those people who love to give gifts, but I don't always have the means to do it.
With so many computers to give away, the first people who come to mind are two local families who both lost their homes in fires recently. I don't know the first family, but I heard through friends about how they lost everything and have 6 home schooled kids to take care of. The second house fire was just last week. This lady is a long-lost friend of mine. I used to babysit her kids when they were little, but we've lost touch over the years. She is a struggling single mom with MS and is also a 2-year breast cancer survivor.
I would love to be able to give each of them a new laptop to help replace a small part of what they've lost.
There is a local family who lost a loved one in a car accident last month. She is raising her four children as well as the four children from her deceased boyfriend. I know things will be very tight for them and I'd love to give them the Blue Ray player and Kung Fu Panda to help brighten up their holiday.
I would like to donate the media smart connect to my church or school or another local organization who could benefit from it.
I'd like to give a laptop to my college-bound son and perhaps some of the software as well. He will be studying engineering and also likes creative picture editing.
If I keep anything for myself, it will likely be the desktop computer, since my old one is slowly dying.
