While the iPod Shuffle has been iconic for quite some time now in the diminutive MP3 player category, Creative has had enough of that dominance and decided to do something about it themselves. Their reply to the iPod Shuffle comes in the form of the Zen Stone, offering 1GB of storage space for those who lead an active lifestyle. I suppose Pebble would have had a better ring to it, but unfortunately Motorola got there first with their line of PEBL handsets.
Available in half a dozen colors (black, white, red, blue, pink, and green), each Zen Stone will be able to store up to 500 songs and perform exactly the same functions as the Shuffle, including random play. You can also include playlist folders and favorite artists as part of the navigational options, giving it a slight edge over the Shuffle. Where the Stone excels would be its rock bottom price (excuse the pun) of just £27.99.

I’ve a hard time understanding how that would work, since it has no screen. But I’m seriously considering buying one.
