Palm will anounce the new Treo 700w today (5/15/06) to be available for Sprint Nextel and Verizon Wireless. According to Verizon wireless website, the Treo will be for $499.99. Sprint doesn’t have the phone up on their website yet.
For those of you who don’t know about the Treo 700w. It’s the new update from the Treo 650. It runs on Windows Mobile 5 operating system. Windows Mobile 5 comes with; Microsoft Office Mobile Suite, Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, and PowerPoint Mobile. Not only can you check you Outlook e mail in real time you can check your Hotmail & Yahoo e mail.
It also comes with a Windows Media Player 10 Mobile. Where you can listen to MP3, WMV, and WMA and save them as a ring tone. Plus you can even have a ring tone of a video file!!!
On top of being able to play a video you can also record a video clip depending on how much memory you have on the phone. It has a 1.3-megapixel camera with 2x zoom.
And of course it has Bluetooth and the ability to text.
Duh!!
It measures 4.4 by 2.3 by 0.9 inches and weights at 6.4 ounces.
The BAD: It doesn’t have Wifi.
I wonder if the Motorola Q will be coming out sooner than expected to give Palm some competition.
