Dolby has been marketing its audio leveling system known as Dolby Volume for a fair amount of time already, and the company is also hard at work on a much smaller chip that would fit in perfectly with MP3 players. It is hoped that the optimized second generation version that will come in a much smaller form factor will also work with Apple's range of iPods - it would be a pity (for financial and other reasons) for Dolby not to jump onto the iPod bandwagon, considering just how this diminutive portable media player has spread its influence far and wide across the hears. After all, who wouldn't want Dolby technology that helps keep bass intact even when you wind down the sound?
