LapBeat Concept

Finding new ways to express ourselves sometimes takes some creative turns.  Music has always been one of the ways that people choose to express different emotions and feelings.  This becomes a shared experience in many ways.

This conceptual drum design is quite neat in that it opens up new worlds to people that play drums and beat out rhythms for others or themselves.  It's digital percussion from an instrument with speakers that allow the sound to flow out from the bottom of the gadget.  Adding v-drum technology (advanced electronic MIDI drum trigger) to the design, it also allows the sound to be made deeper and richer.

A neat idea and I look forward to seeing what changes might be made to it.  The designers are Lee Dong Chul & Tamy Lee.

It’s a super-modern take on the hippie drumming circles I see here around San Francisco 🙂 A friend of mine has an old-fashioned lap bongo, and even that is a lot of fun… I hope I can find one of these to play with!
