Learning takes on galactic scale

starwars-laptops

Oregon Scientific aims to let kids jump onto the laptop bandwagon (much earlier than they should IMHO) by releasing a couple of new kid-friendly electronic learning laptops by hooking up with the folks at LucasFilms. The end result is not clouded by the Dark Side of the Force, resulting in a Star Wars Darth Vader Laptop and the Star Wars R2-D2 laptop. The former will retail for $59.99 and targets little ewoks kids aged 5 and above, while the latter is suitable for toddlers who are older than 3 years of age, and comes with a sticker price of $24.99. Both laptops come with interactive activities and games for children that help them learn math, grammar, music, and spelling.

There are a total of 50 activities on the Darth Vader Laptop, featuring a QWERTY keyboard to break your young padawan in. As for the R2-D2 laptop, eight activities will keep your little ones occupied. For all you know by the time they're 10 they'd be running your home's network due to such early technological indoctrination.
