Mattel, the toy company famous for its range of Barbie dolls will be unveiling a brand new MP3 player that targets the tween markets. This MP3 player not only plays music as it doubles up as a hybrid fashion doll as well where you (as the parent) will be able to dress up this doll with optional $10 accessory packs including pets and other accessories just like a normal doll. No idea on how these extras will be used - are they snap-on pieces?
Aptly named the Barbie Girl MP3 player, each 4.5" device comes with a paltry 512MB of space to store those sugary sweet commercial tunes that you hear on any top 40 playlist. Thankfully, Mattel has thoughtfully included a miniSD memory card slot that can hold another 2GB worth of music. Each Barbie Girl MP3 player retails for $60 and includes a belt clip, earbuds, and a storage case of some sort.
