Society has degenerated to where we are today, with baby-napping being a very real scenario in our hospitals. Exhausted parents who have just undergone the birth of their child together need to get some quality sleep as well, which is where the hospital has to play their part in ensuring the safety of their patients. Babies will soon be equipped with anti-theft alarms, in Norway at least. After all, their country has experienced several instances of infant kidnappings before, so as the old adage goes, "an ounce of prevention is better than cure". A bracelet containing a microchip will be attached to the infant's ankle, while a similar bracelet is hooked up to the mother's wrist. Whenever both bracelets are separated by a preset distance, an alarm will ring.

I think they are so smart. I have three kids and only one hospital I delivered at had a “secure” way of making sure my baby was not taken. Now my problem is keeping my school age children safe. I can’t tell you how many times I have turned around and panicked when my child was no longer by my side or in my sight. It would be so awesome to have an alarm that rang when they wandered to far!! They need to make “anti-theft alarms” for kids!! Does anyone know of something like this on the market her in the US?
