Airbags for the elderly

It is a known fact that old people tend to fall down quite often, and what's even more sad is, they're extremely prone to injuries which could lead to death due to the brittle condition of their bones. Japanese company Prop aims to eliminate or minimize deaths and serious injury whenever an old person topples over with their new cushion (or human airbag, so to speak). This cushion uses two separate pockets of air that is strapped around the body, providing protection to both the head and hips. It is smart enough to inflate within 0.1 seconds once it senses the wearer is about to hit the ground suddenly thanks to built-in electronic sensors. They won't come cheap though at a price of $1,250, but how much more precious is the life of a person?
