Folks who keep household plants tend worry and fret over them, especially when taking long breaks away from home. Here's an innovative method for the Internet generation to make sure that everything at home is all right - it allows you to keep tabs on your house plants via the popular micro-blogging website Twitter, thanks to Adafruit’s Botanicalls Twitter Kit. This unique kit allows your plants to communicate over the web, letting you know whether they are about to wilt from thirst or if they're feeling exuberant as the cat isn't around to chew on its leaves. Apparently wired moisture sensors are used to detect the plant’s state of mind, subsequently sending information out to the Internet via an on-board Ethernet jack. This interesting fix-it-yourself kit will retail for $160.
