Dell showed off its fashionable Inspiron 1525 at CES 2008, which retails for $499 and comes in several colors and some with graphics. The notebooks run Windows Vista, have a 15.4 inch LCD, INtel Celeron 540, and 80GB hard drive, and 512MB of memory. Not a bad notebook for young students going back to school.
You’ve made an excellent choice. My wife got a 1525 almost precisely two months ago and it’s a really good notebook. If I had to buy one for myself right now, I’d go for the exact same model. I got a dell Inspiron 1525 Battery from http://www.batterygoshop.co.uk/dell/inspiron-1525-battery.htm . It can last more than 3 hours.
