Wibrain has recently removed the veil surrounding the B1 business UMPC, with a product sample that looks as though it is a product from the early 80s fused with modern technology. The B1 is blessed with a 4.8" touchscreen LCD display that is capable of reaching 1,024 x 600 resolution. A VIA C7M ULV processor runs at the heart of things, with a VX700 graphics processing unit handling all the necessary office-like visual tasks. Wireless connectivity comes in the form of 802.11b/g WiFi (too bad they did not include 802.11n), Bluetooth 2.1, and support for GSM/GPRS/EDGE quadband and HSDPA triband.
There is a 0.3 megapixel camera thrown inside for good measure, letting you hook up with your business associates virtually as long as there is a decent Internet connection in the vicinity. Some of the other features on the B1 include a QWERTY keyboard, a scroll wheel, Page Up and Down buttons, left and right mouse keys, and a hold key. The B1 is tipped to be available for purchase this September for approximately $650 to $760.
