iLounge has pics of the upcoming Etymotic iPod-compatible wireless earphones. The in-canal earbuds are extremely rectangular, lightweight, and operate via Bluetooth components for about 6-9 hours. It appears a transmitter is mounted on the bottom of the iPod, and one earphone has mulitiple controls. Not exactly sure what they will control, but I'm hoping it will be the volume, although it has four-buttons. Intriguing. If you're $299 richer thanks to Christmas money gifts, and want to be one of the first iPod owners to go wireless, then check out the Etymotic site. I'll just wait until those earbuds look less like earrings, and more like that Motorola H5 headset.
