The world of digital technology can be very impersonal. How many times have you sent a message that is misinterpreted by the reader? Most of the time you add emoticons to convey a certain mood in your IMs. Writing for this blog kinda works the same way, but I can't put a happy face or a sarcasm face to convey my emotions as I write it. A design team from the Swedish Institute of CS in Stockholm is trying to change that with a a mobile messaging service that send and receives effective messaging. eMoto uses affective gestures to convey the emotional content of messages which are then translated and communicated in colors, shapes and animations.
