When you are at a hotel, a folded triangle at the end of the toilet paper signals that the bathroom has been cleaned. Takeuchi and Shoji sought out a method of folding the tip of the paper to prevent waste as some people where sickened with the idea of using toilet paper that somebody else had folded. So after much trial and error, the duo came up with Meruboa. The device is installed in toilet roll holders that allow a simple, one touch operation to provide fold at the end. The little device has brought great profits to the company, around 1 billion yen last year. The inventor says" Meruboa has taught me that it's important to come up with good ideas if you want to survive." Yeah, I'll say! [Via]
