Netflix has been busy teaming up with pretty much everybody out there, but I have a feeling its partnership with TiVo will be a success and one that will finally put Blockbuster out of business. Both companies announced on Thursday the release of an on demand streaming service that will make 12,000 movies and TV shows available to TiVo HD owners.
That's right folks, the service will only stream high definition content to TiVo HD, HD XL, and Series 3. If you own a Roku player, Xbox 360, LG BD300, and Samsung BD-P2500 you can already enjoy Netflix's streaming service, but the rest of us will be enjoying Netflix HD rentals as soon as December.
I'm excited about this. I've used Amazon Unbox in the past, but stopped because I just hate how long it takes for movies to download. With this service, you basically rent the movie, and watch it as soon as you press the play button. You will need a subscription to Netflix in order to enjoy the service, but this is a sweet deal and one that will probably save you a lot of money if you're a Blockbuster customer.
