I spend a lot of time at my desk and I have said many times I love digital photography. One of the most useful items I've had sent over lately has been this Digital Photo Frame from Tao Electronics, with a clock. I was sent the modern version, which fits nicely with my decor, but they have several different designs you can choose from.
If you plan to give this as a gift, peek at the version with the office pen holder. That might suit your needs better in some situations. I love the 320 x 240 TFT LCD display. It's super bright and clean and I was very impressed with it. I also found the clock easy to set and the photos easy to load up.
A slide show option allows you to show off your photos with incremental times that it will scroll. The calendar feature is nice and you can set it to overlay the photos you choose. You can also choose four photos to be displayed at once, in a checkerboard style. I was given a USB cord to transfer the photos to the frame and it was super easy to figure out. No software was needed for this, either. Just drag and drop.
There is also a feature where you can add an mp3 to play alongside the slide show. I used this once or twice but I'm not sure how often it would be put to use, unless a special occasion where you add a special song for someone before giving them the frame as a gift. With room for about 50 photos and an internal memory of 128MB, you have plenty of room to place your favorite photos for sharing.
