Spills be gone

You know you shouldn't be doing it, but there you are eating over the notebook and just at that opportune moment fluffy decides to show you some love and knocks over your glass of milk. RIGHT IN YOUR NOTEBOOK!!! No need to panic if you have a new Panasonic CF-Y5. It belongs to their ToughBook line but thank all the lucky stars it doesn't look like one.

Panasonic has a longstanding tradition of making notebooks that can withstand unusual torture, but there's normally the sacrifice of aesthetics that goes along with the priviledge. Not so with the ToughBook Letsnote CF-Y5, which sports a 1.5 GHz Intel L2300 Core Duo processor, a 14.1-inch 1,400 by 1,050 pixel display, up to 1 GB of RAM, 802.11a/b/g wireless networking, up to 60 GB hard disk storage, built-in Ethernet, a DVD burner, a PC slot, SD expansion, and VGA output in a sleek silver form factor and it can withstand an impact of up to 220 lbs.

The notebook also features a unique drainage system which allows it to recover unharmed from small spills. It also includes a waterproof sheet that protects the hard disk, logic board, and other internal components. Don't look to see the CF-Y5 Stateside though, its only available in Japan right now starting at the equivalent of $2300.
