A speedy trip to the grocery store, is what the new "shopping buddy" seems to promise. IBM's "shopping buddy" is a touch screen computer mounted on your cart that will guide you to your new South Beach Diet TV dinners, while keeping a tally of your purchases. So how does it work? You make a list of things you need from your computer and once you are at the store, you enter your preferred customer card, log into the system and follow a map of the location of all your items (whew, I ran out of breath). It will also keep a tally for you, so you don't overspend. This marketing ploy is expected to roll out this summer in a store near you. [Source]
